Nano Nagle
This week in 2S we wrote a historical narrative (story) about Nano Nagle who was a kind and caring woman who helped the poor. Nano is the founder of the Presentation Sisters who were the first teachers of our school when it was known as St Philomena's Convent. Today at SJV our school hall is called the Nano Nagle Centre.
Today in History we published our story about Nano Nagle using Book Creator on the iPad. We made our very own book using a photograph of the image we had drawn with our story and the sentences we had written. Some of us even got the chance to record our story.

Lent
On Ash Wednesday we were marked with a cross of ashes as a special sign of Jesus' friends. Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent which is a special time when we get ready for Easter. Lent is a time of growing and changing - being happy, forgiving someone, sharing with others and being extra kind!

Creation Stories
2S have been listening to Creation Stories. These stories come from the Book of Genesis at the very beginning of the Bible and tell us how the world was created by God. Today we listened to the story about Adam and Eve and the beautiful Garden of Eden. Do you know why God put Adam in the Garden of Eden?

Welcome to 2S 2015
This week 2S have been very busy in their new classroom - seeing old friends, making new friends, organising our books and pencils and beginning to learn what Year 2 will feel like. Check out how great we look working hard in our Maths groups!
