I'll have a half is an old saying... but it is a new concept for 2BP at the moment!
We now know that half is part of two and that it must be equal, the same, or in other words..identical!
We know that only even numbers divide or share evenly! so numbers ending in: 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 can be halved easlily.
Can you name some things that are half????

Maths, Maths, Maths
This week in Maths we learnt about measuring capacity and 3D shapes. We played a game called the Water Race where we had to take water from one bucket and fill an empty bucket - one cupful at a time. What wet and wild fun! Our 3D shapes came alive today when we used playdough to make cubes, cylinders, prisms and cones. Take a look at our photos to see 2BP having fun learning maths.

A Good School Team
This week in 2BP we talked about our school team. We made a HUGE list of school jobs that filled our classroom whiteboard - WOW! As a class we then walked around the school and visited some people in the school to find out what job they did and did they consider themselves a part of the school team. After many, many interviews with school team members like the librarian, school officers, school crossing supervisors and teachers we headed back to the classroom to make a list of things that make a good school team. Here's what we came up with....
A good school team needs to:
A good school team needs to:
- listen to others
- do your job
- work together
- share
- take turns
- use your manners
- respect everyone
- be safe
- help each other
- follow the rules

Fair Go!
This week in our Unit Work we talked about being FAIR. 2BP listened to some situations and had to decide if they were fair or unfair and what would need to change to make the situation a better one. The next task was to close our eyes and say the words 'Fair Go'. What colours do you see? What patterns do you see? What pictures do you see? Take a look at our great work.
