Paper Planes

2S have been making and flying paper planes as part of a maths investigation - Up, Up and Away! Students could make either a Glider, Dart or a design of their own. We had three test flights in the Nano Nagle Centre to see how far the paper planes could fly and then we reviewed our findings. A Glider flew the furthest at around 13 metres with a small change to its wing design. This small change allowed more air to funnel over the top of the plane making it more aerodynamic.
