George's Marvellous Medicine

2S have been listening to the story about George and his grandma. Most grandma's are kind and helpful but not George's grandma. So when is is time for her medicine, George makes a bubbling, frothing, marvellous medicine, which sends her through the roof.

Pancake Tuesday Races

On Tuesday we celebrated Pancake Tuesday by having pancake races on the oval. Pancake Tuesday or “Shrove Tuesday” is also known as Fat Tuesday and is the last day before the beginning of Lent. The tradition of Pancake Tuesday goes back to the Middle Ages when on the last day before Lent people started to eat up all of the rich foods they had in their home (like eggs, butter, sugar) before they began the fast of 40 days during Lent. 2S had a lot of fun racing with their pancakes!

Dance Cart

Today 2S started Dance Cart lessons with Jenny. We are doing dances from around the world and today we started learning the Chinese Ribbon Dance. We are a class of great dancers already!

Our first week in 2S

This week we welcome 29 new children to 2S here at SJV. We have been busy in the first week getting our books organised, learning how the 2S classroom works and getting to know each other. Today we played an activity called 'Find someone in 2S who...'. We tried to find 20 different names of friends for each of the questions that Mrs B gave us. We learnt a lot about each other and had fun as well!

Santa Science

Today we worked as junior scientists with Greg from the CSIRO. We participated in the Santa Science program and we learnt about how science can be seen in Christmas items and events. We made a balancing Santa, Christmas Crystals and a Sun Catcher bracelet.
