Paper Planes

2S have been making and flying paper planes as part of a maths investigation - Up, Up and Away! Students could make either a Glider, Dart or a design of their own. We had three test flights in the Nano Nagle Centre to see how far the paper planes could fly and then we reviewed our findings. A Glider flew the furthest at around 13 metres with a small change to its wing design. This small change allowed more air to funnel over the top of the plane making it more aerodynamic.

Sticks and Stones Show

Today Year 2's watched a very exciting story. In the play we met two young men - Joe and Toby. During the show Toby finds out what makes him angry and how he can learn to stop picking on other people. The messages we heard from Joe and Toby were....

DON’T be a BULLY…STOP. Think, breathe, walk away.
DON’T be a TARGET…SPEAK UP. Stand tall. Tell someone.
BE A POSITIVE BYSTANDER!

Field of Poppies

This week in Art we have finished our Field of Poppies. Our artwork has been inspired by Claude Monet's impressionist painting of a field of red poppies in France. Our artwork has bold colour but with little detail and the image comes to life when you step away and view the painting from a distance.
