Graphs

We can represent data in many different ways. We often use graphs as they make it easy to see and understand information. One kind of graph is a column graph which 2S have bee using this week in Maths. We collected class data about the number of people in our family and our eye colour and presented the information using a graph on the floor.

Cross Country

On Wednesday SJV participated in a cross country race with all the students from our school. The course was hilly and a little muddy but lots of fun to run! There were lots of parents and teachers cheering all the runners as they crossed the finish line. Nagle House won the Cross Country - congratulations!

Measuring Capacity

Today in Maths we looked at Capacity. Capacity tells us how much a container holds and is usually measured with a liquid like water, juice or milk. 2S used water and a variety of containers like spoons, cups and icecream containers to measure their capacity. Lots of fun and everyone got a little wet!

Science - making objects change

This week started work on a Science Unit called 'Mix it Up!' We conducted an experiment to see how we could change paper and playdough by cutting, folding, squashing, rolling and bending. It was a lot of fun changing these materials.

Mr Shepard visits

Mr Shephard visited Year 2 today to talk about what it was like to live in Wyvernleigh House as a little boy. Mr Shephard also went to school at St Philomena's Convent and he told some great stories about what it was like to live in Manly's first house as a little boy. He talked about the Model T Ford car that his family owned and the bush that was behind the house where he played after school.
